How to Tie a Scarf: 9 Tying Techniques

There is an elegant quality that comes with a scarf, giving the man who dons one an extra touch of swagger.
In the winter time, you’re probably going to be wearing the same couple of coats throughout the whole season. A scarf will add the perfect amount of noticeable flair and variety to your outfit, not to mention the extra warmth.
One question I seem to get the most regarding scarves is, “What’s the best way to wear one around your neck?”
There are so many ways you can wear a scarf. The most practical ways will only take you a few minutes to learn. Others, will take no effort at all.
Here are 9 different ways you can wear a scarf:
Here are some excellent illustrations courtesy of texeresilk.com. 1. The Ascot Knot  (or Loose Tie)
Step 1 Let the middle of the scarf fall on the back of your neck with equal length on both sides.
Step 2 Take one end (A) and bring it towards the other (B).
Step 3 Let A pass from under B.
Step 4 Bring A upwards to make a knot as illustrated.
Step 5 Adjust both the ends equally facing downwards.
This type of knot is great when you’re wearing an open jacket, and you want the same appeal that a necktie has. It also works great when you’re wearing a turtle neck or a high collar jacket.

2. The Twice-Around Ascot
Step 1 Fold the scarf according to the basic fold 1 and let it hang around your neck equally on each side.
Step 2 Bring one side (A) towards the other side (B).
Step 3 Let A pass from under B.
Step 4 Bring A towards the front.
Step 5 Let A pass through B again to form a knot.
Step 6 Adjust both the sides facing forward as shown in the illustration.
This knot is the same as the first except that it goes around the neck twice. This techinque works best with a longer scarf.

3. The European Loop (or Slip Knot)
Step 1 Fold the scarf according to the basic fold 3 and then fold it again to form a sort of hoop.
Step 2 Let the scarf dangle around your neck with the hoop on one side of the shoulder.
Step 3 Take the other end (A) and bring it towards the hoop.
Step 4 Let A pass through the hoop to make a European loop.
Step 5 Tighten the loop to get the complete effect.
This knot can be made shorter by folding the scarf in half again after the first time. This type of knot goes well with a short jacket, which you can also tuck the scarf into and zip up. This is one of my personal favorites. It looks best in cold weather, and works well with both casual and business outfits.

4. The Fake Knot
Step 1 Fold the scarf according to basic knot 1 and let it drop down your neck equally on each side.
Step 2 Make a knot on one side (A).
Step 3 Bring the other side (B) towards A.
Step 4 Let B pass through A to form a knot.
Step 5 Tighten the knot to get a beautiful fake knot.

5. The Neck Tie
Tie your scarf as you would a regular neck tie - a Windsor knot looks best. This can only be done with a lightweight scarf. This is a very business appropriate look that would go create with a 3/4 length coat.
More simple ways to wear a scarf:

6. The Twice-Around
Place the scarf around your neck so that the two ends are at your back, cross the ends at the back of your neck and bring them around to the front. This is great for a casual oufit. For example, a simple solid jacket with jeans.
If it’s not cold out, wear it loose for a more laid-back appeal:

7. The Toss
This one is so easy: Hang the full length of the scarf around your neck with one side hanging down about one foot more than the other, then take the long end and cross it over your neck, tossing it behind you and over the opposite shoulder.

8. The Classic Drape
Simply drape the scarf around your neck and tuck it into your coat, covering the chest area left exposed by the coat’s neckline. If I’m wearing an overcoat, I like to do this, and close my jacket over it, checking that the scarf is evenly under my jacket collar.
Another way to use a scarf is to pop up your jacket collar and place it underneath:

9. The Wrap Around
Rather than telling you how to do this, I thought it would be better to find a video on how to tie this one. It’s the final one shown in this great video by Details (you’ll see how to do the loose tie and slip knot as well):

Best Answer of 5 Finalist Miss Universe 2010

                    Finalis Miss Universe 2010
Sumber: AFP
Seluruh kontestan dinilai sejak mereka mengikuti latihan selama dua minggu.

Seperti yang ditulis oleh IS4n2Q, "without seeking my country, i think this is the most effort and honesty interview than others. thats ok because i think this is her 1st interview in many people. if i see clearly from this video, i think her english fluent enough, but she just too nervous. if she can add a little vocab. be calm, i think its fine enough.you tried the best qory, i just say GOODLUCK FOR YOU."

Swiss Family Robinson (Vault Disney Collection)

http://www.usnewsdot.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/Swiss-Family-Robinson.jpgSwiss Family Robinson Swiss Family Robinson (Vault Disney Collection) The Disney touch is all over this grand, colorful version of the Johann Wyss adventure of a European family set off for the new world of New Guinea. The film opens on a ship jostled and torn by a raging storm while a family struggles to make it through alive. Tossed into a reef near a deserted tropical island, father John Mills takes charge and the family soon turns their island prison into a veritable paradise. Their multilevel tree house, built in record time, is complete with running water and a working pipe organ scavenged from the ship, while their grand yard is abloom in English roses. As a tale of hardship and pioneer pluck, the tale is pure fantasy, but as entertainment it’s energetic and appealing. The island is impossibly populated by ostriches, zebras, lions, and elephants, a private zoo that delights the youngest boy and offers plenty of comic relief. The two older brothers discover even wilder life when they rescue the prisoner of oriental pirates (led by hard-bitten Sessue Hayakawa). There’s little real danger anywhere in the film–even the climactic battle with the pirates is a cartoonish affair,

with coconut bombs and nonlethal booby traps, until the final desperate, deadly moments. Hardly a faithful adaptation of the novel, but a lush, beautifully photographed film and an entertaining adventure safe for all ages. Dorothy McGuire costars as the proper, worry-prone mother.

Facebook Places, New Location Feature, Unveiled (PICTURES, VIDEO): What It Means For You

http://i.huffpost.com/gen/193863/thumbs/s-FACEBOOK-PLACES-LOCATION-FEATURE-large.jpg NEW YORK -- Facebook users carrying their smart phones will soon be able to check in to real-life locations such as restaurants, bars or live concerts.

It's the first foray by the world's largest online social network into the frenzy of location-based services. Rising with the popularity of smart phones, such services let users find coupons, earn quirky merit badges or simply share with friends where they are.

The new feature is called Facebook Places. Sharing your whereabouts with friends is its main focus and some have noted that the feature "borrows heavily" from existing services like Foursquare and Gowalla, who are partnering with Facebook on Places.

Check-ins will be available on Facebook's iPhone application Wednesday with a free update users can download, as well as on the site's touch site used by many other mobile phones.

Facebook explained the feature in an introductory blog post: "You have the option to share your location by "checking in" to that place and letting friends know where you are. You can easily see if any of your friends have also chosen to check in nearby."

Places will let users tag other friends in their check-ins, as is currently possible with photos or status updates, and will enable users see others who have also checked in to their location.

Having wrestled with privacy concerns in the past, Facebook has attempted to strike the right balance with Places and has given users a variety of tools to control what location information they share and with whom. As the New York Times reports, "Mr. Sharon said that Places would have a series of privacy controls intended to give users the power to decide with whom they would share check-ins. Users will, for instance, be able to remove themselves after they are tagged. There will also be special privacy controls to protect minors, he added."

Facebook is partnering with Foursquare and Gowalla, two already-popular location-based social networks that also allow users to "check in." TechCrunch writes, "Representatives from both Gowalla and Foursquare were invited to take the stage at the event to talk about how they plan to leverage Facebook's new Places API. Both will allow you to check-in and publish the data to your Facebook feed. Your badges and pins from each of those apps will transfer over as well."

See screenshots of the Places iPhone app and Walt Mossberg's introduction to Facebook Places below.

Huge ice island breaks from Greenland glacier

An ice island four times the size of Manhattan has broken off from one of Greenland's two main glaciers in the biggest such event in the Arctic in nearly 50 years.

The new ice island, which broke off on Thursday, will enter a remote place called the Nares Strait, about 620 miles south of the North Pole between Greenland and Canada.

The ice island has an area of 100 square miles and a thickness of up to half the height of the Empire State Building, said Andreas Muenchow, professor of ocean science and engineering at the University of Delaware.

Mr Muenchow said he had expected an ice chunk to break off from the Petermann Glacier, one of the two largest remaining ones in Greenland, because it had been growing in size for seven or eight years. But he did not expect it to be so large.

"The freshwater stored in this ice island could keep the Delaware or Hudson Rivers flowing for more than two years," said Mr Muenchow

"It could also keep all US public tap water flowing for 120 days."

He said it was hard to judge whether the event occurred due to global warming because records on the seawater around the glacier have only been kept since 2003.

The flow of seawater below the glaciers is one of the main causes of ice calvings off Greenland.

"Nobody can claim this was caused by global warming. On the other hand nobody can claim that it wasn't," Mr Muenchow said.

Scientists have said the first six months of 2010 have been the hottest globally on record. The El Nino weather pattern has contributed to higher temperatures, but many scientists say elevated levels of man-made greenhouse gases are pushing temperatures higher.

The ice island could fuse to land, break up into smaller pieces, or slowly move south where it could block shipping.

The last time such a large ice island formed in Greenland was in 1962 when the Ward Hunt Ice Shelf calved an island.

Smaller pieces of that chunk became lodged between real islands inside Nares Strait.

How to Prepare For a Date

You've snagged a date with someone special, and now you've got the chance to make an impression. Preparing for a date can be nerve-wracking, but can be approached in a step-by-step manner that'll assure you make it to your date fully prepared. The rest is up to you.

Steps :

# 1. Do some homework. In the days before a date, take time out to catch up with current events and hot topics. These are great conversation starters and you will be able to impress your date with your knowledge. Try to remember as much as you can about previous conversations together so you can follow up on them. Have a couple of funny stories or conversation pieces up your sleeve in case you need them. There are now many dating advice online forums and sites that one can access in the internet. The problem with some of these sites is that they are not actually made by professionals who have studied and researched their dating advice. It would be prudent to also consider the legitimacy of the dating advice as well as the veracity of it.

# 2. Start looking and feeling good in advance. Set time aside for exercise in the days before the date, whether it's yoga or push ups. Eat well and get plenty of sleep.

# 3. Pick your clothes early. http://pad2.whstatic.com/images/thumb/c/cc/Clothing_120.jpg/180px-Clothing_120.jpg You should have several outfits laid out before the day of the date. This way you won't have any last minute panics when you realize you have a spaghetti stain down your favourite shirt. Plus, it will allow you to try on a few different looks on the day of the date and see which one fits your mood most comfortably at the time.

# 4. Clean up on the day of the date. Take a nice, long shower or bath. Ensure you have clean hair and nails. You should smell good, but not overpowering. Avoid heavy perfumes and aftershaves, especially if your date could be allergic. Ladies, go easy when applying make-up and aim for a natural but groomed look. If things go well he will eventually see you without make-up - and you will want him to recognize you at that point. Shortly before leaving for your date, floss and brush your teeth thoroughly.

# 5. Think positively. You're going out to enjoy yourself, after all. Don't start worrying about what disasters could happen, because that way they are far more likely to. If you are getting nervous, call a good friend, watch your favourite comedy show or listen to upbeat music. Loosen up. Focus on having fun and you inevitably will.
# 6. Be punctual. Give yourself plenty of time to get to your rendezvous. http://pad3.whstatic.com/images/thumb/d/d6/Prepdate6_970.jpg/180px-Prepdate6_970.jpg
Keeping your date waiting will start things off on the wrong foot.

How to Date a Hopelessly Romantic Person When You Are Not Hopelessly Romantic

Are you with someone who is captivated by love stories, candlelight dinners, and old-fashioned chivalry? If you and your significant other have very different ideas of what romance should be, here is how to come to terms with your differences.

Steps

1.Understand that there is a reason that we are attracted to the people we are attracted to. This is because relationships are the learning playground of life. How we choose to relate to others gives us information about ourselves. When we see things that we like in others, it illuminates those things that we like and admire in ourselves. And when we see things that we dislike in others, it often signals that we dislike something in ourselves.
2.Consider what your opinion says about you. For example, if you like that they are "hopelessly romantic," you may have your own "hopelessly romantic" side that you would like to bring more attention to. If you dislike that they are so hopelessly romantic, it may mean that you have closed down the idea of romance in yourself, and their romance serves to remind you of all of the ways in which you were hurt when you were deeply connected to someone.
3.Give yourself permission to see the world differently. You do not have to see the world as a hopeless romantic does in order to relate to one. Your perception--as well as theirs--has merit, and is worthy of your appreciation and attention.
4.Don't confuse romance with materialism. Hopeless romantics can be low-maintenance dates/partners. Instead of needing to wow them with expensive gifts, dinners, and vacations, you can please them with gestures that are less expensive. Taking late-night walks, cooking a fancy dinner at home, and writing love letters are just a few things you can do to keep your hopelessly romantic partner happy without breaking the bank.
5.Think of some things that your partner accepts about you. There is probably something you are passionate about that your partner is not. If they accept and encourage this passion, appreciate that, and seek to return the favor. And, if your partner doesn't accept your ideas or interests, this might be a good time to talk about how you can both make your relationship healthier by valuing each other's individuality.
6.Remember the essence of romance is doing something that you would not normally do, simply because you care. You may never buy a bunch of flowers for yourself, and that's exactly what makes it special. The recipient knows you did it just to show you care, and for no other reason.

Ramadan Recipe - Chicken Biryani

http://images.media-allrecipes.com/site/allrecipes/area/community/userphoto/small/2125.jpg "This is a delicious Pakistani/Indian rice dish which is often reserved for very special occasions such as weddings, parties, or holidays such as Ramadan. It has a lengthy preparation, but the work is definitely worth it. For biryani, always use long grain rice. Basmati rice with its thin, fine grains is the ideal variety to use. Ghee is butter that has been slowly melted so that the milk solids and golden liquid have been separated and can be used in place of vegetable oil to yield a more authentic taste."

Recipe For : 7 people

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 4 small potatoes, peeled and halved
  • 2 large onions, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger root
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 medium tomatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 2 tablespoons plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh mint leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1 (2 inch) piece cinnamon stick
  • 3 pounds boneless, skinless chicken pieces cut into chunks
  •
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 1 pinch powdered saffron
  • 5 pods cardamom
  • 3 whole cloves
  • 1 (1 inch) piece cinnamon stick
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 pound basmati rice
  • 4 cups chicken stock
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt

Directions

  1. In a large skillet, in 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (or ghee) fry potatoes until brown, drain and reserve the potatoes. Add remaining 2 tablespoons oil to the skillet and fry onion, garlic and ginger until onion is soft and golden. Add chili, pepper, turmeric, cumin, salt and the tomatoes. Fry, stirring constantly for 5 minutes. Add yogurt, mint, cardamom and cinnamon stick. Cover and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally until the tomatoes are cooked to a pulp. It may be necessary to add a little hot water if the mixture becomes too dry and starts to stick to the pan.
  2. When the mixture is thick and smooth, add the chicken pieces and stir well to coat them with the spice mixture. Cover and cook over very low heat until the chicken is tender, approximately 35 to 45 minutes. There should only be a little very thick gravy left when chicken is finished cooking. If necessary cook uncovered for a few minutes to reduce the gravy.
  3. Wash rice well and drain in colander for at least 30 minutes.

  4. In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil (or ghee) and fry the onions until they are golden. Add saffron, cardamom, cloves, cinnamon stick, ginger and rice. Stir continuously until the rice is coated with the spices.
  5. In a medium-size pot, heat the chicken stock and salt. When the mixture is hot pour it over the rice and stir well. Add the chicken mixture and the potatoes; gently mix them into the rice. Bring to boil. Cover the saucepan tightly, turn heat to very low and steam for 20 minutes. Do not lift lid or stir while cooking. Spoon biryani onto a warm serving dish.

Be Romantic Person

What "being romantic" means varies widely from person to person, but at its core, romance involves doing something to express affection in a meaningful yet unexpected way. A true act of romance requires creativity and sincerity, often inspired by love (either its presence or its possibility). While harboring affection for someone might be easy, translating it into romance usually is not. There are millions of romantic ideas in books, movies and on the Internet, but true romance comes from within. Here's how to get in touch with your inner romantic person.

Steps :
1. Break the monotony. Many people associate the beginning of a relationship with romance, excitement and inspiration because everything is new. You've just met this person and the relationship is unfolding--what will happen tomorrow? Next week? Next month? Will he call? Will we kiss? Will she visit? But after the relationship is established, we settle into a routine, and nothing is new anymore. To be romantic, to reintroduce the excitement that characterized the beginning of the relationship, do something different, something that your partner wouldn't expect. The more out of the ordinary, the better!

2. Court them. Pretend that you and the person just met, and you want the person to fall for you. What would you do to impress them? To show them that you're interested? To win them over? Treat your partner like they're single, like you're trying to earn their affection and trust. The opposite of being romanced is being taken for granted. No one wants to feel like they've already been "caught" and it's over and done with. Put on a show! Stay on your toes! The most romantic ideas come to people when they fear they might lose the one they love. But you don't have to actually be on the verge of losing someone in order to tap into that mindset!

3. Make it personal. Romance is not "one-size-fits-all." The stereotypical icons of romance (roses, candles and chocolate) can only go so far. Think about what really gets that special someone excited. Recognize what makes your partner unique, and find/do things for them that only they would appreciate. What are their quirky (perhaps secret) interests, obsessions and fantasies? Whenever they're shopping, talking, or watching a movie, what makes their eyes light up? Pay attention! Being romantic means acknowledging how special a person is, and that means demonstrating that you know--better than anyone else in the world--what makes them unique.

4. Focus on the little things. Romance can be practiced every day, and it doesn't have to be expensive or grand. In fact, sometimes the most romantic moments are simple, spontaneous and free. There are millions of ways to say "I love you" and "I'm lucky to have you." Think of the world as your medium. You can write it, say it, sculpt it, look it, hide it, shout it, paint it, kiss it, fold it, grow it, touch it, and express it in unlimited ways. Make it a habit to find a new way to be romantic every day. Be creative and have fun with it!

5. Be sincere. To make someone feel appreciated, you have to really, truly be thankful for their presence in your life. Maintaining that sense of gratitude takes conscious effort. It's easy to forget how amazing someone is when you see them every day, but if you constantly remind yourself how lucky you are to share your life with that person, every day will be the most romantic day of your life.

How to Know the Difference Between Love, Infatuation and Lust

While there's no clear, fool-proof way to decipher your feelings for someone, there are certain ways to make the distinction between love, lust and infatuation clearer for yourself.

STEPS:

1 Could it be love?
Write down everything that you associate with the person you're feeling strongly about. Example words on your brainstorm list could include love, butterflies, holding hands, annoying, snoring, gorgeous, etc.

2. Circle each attribute with a different color such as red for lust, yellow for infatuation, and green for love.
3. See which of the three feelings dominates the page. If one doesn't stand out (as if the distribution seems pretty equal), move on to the following steps for more insight.
04. Read literature on the topic. Questions about love are timeless questions that have consumed mankind throughout the ages and are a major theme in many scriptures, tales from mythology, and literature. Read the story of David and Bathsheba from the Old Testament, 1st Corinthians from the New Testament, the story of Ali and Fatima, Echo and Narcissus, or Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.
05. Ask your friends or, if you find it easier, ask a complete and utter stranger, so that you get an honest opinion and an outsider's point of view. Tell that person how you feel, and ask them if it sounds primarily like love, infatuation, or lust.
06. Watch a movie that relates to your situation like "Cruel Intentions" (which is about lust, and wanting what you can't have), "Down to You" (which is about love and leaving it all down to the other person), "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" (which is about none of them really but it's about making a mistake and putting it right), "The Notebook," which tells a tale of life-long love and commitment, "The Phantom of the Opera" (which is about both lust, infatuation and, eventually, pure, true, self-sacrificing love) and definitely, "Titanic" (which is about holding on to someone forever until you die - that is love - bittersweet love), also, perhaps, "The Fly" (which is about a woman who falls in love with a man who turns into a fly and then goes insane, and yet remains deeply emotionally attached through this agonizing life change - which is love) or High Fidelity (which is about learning what love really is). Yet, understand that movies are fictions that depict idealized rather than realistic love.
07. Love is all about the little things. When you are really, truly, in love, you don't feel the need to dress up for them. The most important thing is being with them. Butterflies are not usually present in love. You should not feel nervous when you really love someone. Love means you connect with them spiritually, intellectually, and emotionally. And love means differences, disagreements, and arguing (but not fighting) because who wants to be with someone who is the same as they are? You feel refreshed when you are with them, but not necessarily weak when you are away from them. If you think about them all the time, always, it is probably lust or infatuation, not love. The most important thing you should consider is, can I say 'I love you' and truly mean it

Blue Advertise Review and Payment

Blue Advertise is a new advertising network just for publishers. It was launched at the end of August, 2007. This advertising network is run by a company or a group of individuals located in Slovakia (Central Europe). Its introduction at the gate page is all written in English. But once you log in, you will be shocked because some pages are all written in Slovak. In fact, after registering an account, I logged in. And I landed at their Terms page, which is all written in Slovak. They seem to have removed this page. But if you go to your account page, which they call Workbench, again, it's all written in Slovak.
So who is actually running this advertising network? If you browse the entire website, you won't see a company name, address, phone number or any corporate or personal information. In fact, we asked by e-mail twice where we could find their office information. But we have been ignored. Furthermore, before signing up, we asked several questions like what is their share of revenue, minimum CPMs, payment options and so forth. But we haven't received a reply.

Naturally, we have become very suspicious about this advertising network. They say they support websites with adult content. They also say that websites built at free web services like Yahoo's GeoCities and Google's blogspot will be accepted. We were curious as to what kind of ads they are going to run. So we tested an ad code for 728 x 90 pixels from Blue Advertise. And what we saw appeared to be a legitimate ad. (See the 5th screenshot.)
# Ad types: banners (468x60, 728x90, 300x250, 120x600, 160x600, 180x150, 300 x 600), affiliate
# Earning basis: CPM only
# Application acceptance: Application must be accepted by Blue Advertise
# Default (in-house) ads: Supported
# Payment options: PayPal, wire
# Payment terms: A minimum of $30

By the way, once you log in your account page, you can see Blue Advertise's expected CPMs. According to this CPM chart, all banner sizes but 180 x 150 Small Rectangle generate at least US$0.12. The highest CPM is US$0.90 for 160 x 600 Wide Skyscraper. Just for you to know that Blue Adv only offers CPM-based banners for publishers. They have no cost-per-click (CPC) banners or sponsored pop-up windows.

It sounds like there are many negative aspects about Blue Advertise. Actually, there is one advantage in using Blue Advertise's ad codes. Many advertising networks don't guarantee that there is an advertiser that stands ready for your banner. No matter what the promised CPM is, you may not earn a penny, depending on the geographical location of a visitor to your website. Blue Advertise's system is simple in such a way that as long as you place an ad code, an ad will run on your website. And you are promised at least US$0.04 per 1,000 impressions.

This is my 1st payment proof :
